Investing Guidelines
Investment in units can be made anytime during dealing days subject to the cut-off timings of respective Constitutive Offering Documents of the Fund(s). Payment can be made by the following two methods:
- Investors can open their own Special Convertible Rupee Account (SCRA) with any Bank in Pakistan and transfer money from SCRA account to respective Mutual Fund(s) (Collective Investment Scheme) and Voluntary Pension Fund(s).
- Payment can also be made in the form of foreign Remittance directly in the collection Account of respective Mutual Fund(s) (Collective Investment Scheme) and Voluntary Pension Fund(s).
Investment through SCRA
State Bank of Pakistan allows Banks to open SCRAs for foreign national/institutions and Non-resident Pakistanis to facilitate investment from foreign countries into securities in Pakistan. Foreign Currency may be remitted anytime in these accounts and can also be repatriated as and when required. The Bank converts FCY at the time of inward remittance and repatriation.
Investment by Persons/Institutions Not Maintaining SCRAs:
Investors who do not wish to open SCRA or ordinary bank account with any Bank in Pakistan may also invest by directly investing into the fund Account’s through foreign remittance as under.

Instructions
- Fill the a/c opening form in block letters and in legible handwriting to avoid errors in application processing. If any alteration is made, a countersign is mandatory against each alteration.
- Please tick in the appropriate box wherever applicable, in case any field is not relevant, please mark ‘N/A’ (Not Applicable)
- It is the responsibility of the applicant to carefully read and understand the guidelines and instructions provided in this form.
- Applications incomplete in any respect and/or not accompanied by required documents are liable to be held or rejected until complete requirements are fulfilled.
- Payments shall be made in favor of ‘CDC Trustee – ’ or ‘MCBFSL Trustee – ’ as mentioned in Constitutive Offering Documents of the Fund(s).
- It should be the responsibility of the applicant to pay all charges and taxes in relation to the units purchased by him/her/institution.
- Applications by foreign nationals shall be accepted subject to existing local laws and KYC compliance, provided the subscription amount is paid by means of a remittance through banking channels or through means permitted by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
- Front-end load (charges) / back end load will be applicable on investment / redemptions as per Constitutive Offering Documents of the Fund(s).
- Exchange Rate Risk will be borne by the Investor.
Documentation
First Time Investment
For first time, investment application and other requisite documents (listed below) can be sent in scanned format via email at contactus@ablamc.com and later, after confirmation, original set of documents to be sent for Account activation.
For individuals / Sole Proprietorships
- Account Opening Form (duly filled)
- Investment application form
- Copy of CNIC/NICOP/POC/Passport
- Business / Employment Proof (Employment Card with Designation/ Visiting Card/ Declaration by Employer of his/her employment)
- Any other Document as proof of his/her source of funds
- Zakat Affidavit
- W-9 Form / W-8 Form (where applicable, in case of individual)
- Copy of Swift / transfer slip
- W-9 Form / W-8 Form ((where applicable, in case of joint account holder)
- CRS Form (individual / joint account holder)
- Copy of Fund Transfer Slip or Demand Draft or FTT or SWIFT message
For Companies/Trust/Statutory/Corporate Bodies (for first time investors or in case of any amendments in these documents)
- Account Opening Form (duly filled)
- Investment application form
- CTC of Memorandum & Articles of Association/Bye Laws/Trust Deed.
- CTC List of Director / Trustee / Partner (with CNIC/NICOP/Passport copy).
- CTC of CNIC/NICOP/Passport (s) of the authorized signatory officer(s).
- CTC of Board Resolution authorizing officers to operate investment account.
- Investment Remittance advice.
- CTC of W-9 Form (if US based entity) or W-8 BENE (other than US based entity).
- Appropriate Tax Residency self-certification Form (CRS form)
- CTC of List of authorized signatories with specimen signature.
- CTC of Passport/CNIC or NICOP (in case of non-resident or resident Pakistanis) of Authorized Signatory(ies).
- CTC of Latest Audited annual financial statements.
- Valid tax exemption certificate issued by Federal Board of Revenue, Pakistan (if any)
Note: All of the above documents must be valid on date of submission of this form.
Subsequent Investment
For every subsequent investment only investment application form is to be provided along with the investment.
Transaction Process
You can approach your bank to remit amount of investment in foreign currency as per the details provided. The following steps will be carried out in Pakistan;
- The Banker of the Fund will convert the amount in PKR at the prevailing interbank exchange rate and credit the amount in the aforementioned account.
- On receipt of the amount ABL Asset Management Company Limited (ABL Funds), will issue units.
- ABL Asset Management Company Limited (ABL Funds), will carry out a process of registration of the investment so made in the Funds under our management which will help in repatriation.
Redemption
Partial of full balance of investment amounts can be redeemed on request (through redemption form available on website) on dealing days subject to cut-off timings, and it will be remitted at the requested IBAN number through Telegraphic Transfer.
SCRA accounts allow the investor to receive the proceeds in Pakistan, which can be repatriated anytime in Foreign Currency as per State Bank of Pakistan foreign exchange rules. Whereas remittance of non-SCRA account holders is directly done to the IBAN accounts of the investors within Pakistan.
